Welcome to Teresa Crew’s Research Blog. Working class academics, student experience, and social inequality

This blog brings together my research on the experiences of working class people in and around higher education. It is primarily a space to share and discuss my work on working class academics (WCAs) exploring how class shapes identity, career trajectories, and belonging within universities.

The blog also draws on my broader research interests, including student experience, gender, and inequalities in higher education, as well as ongoing projects which include a study of Bangor as a city – examining gentrification, community change, and the displacement of lower-income residents and small businesses in a regional Welsh context.

This blog began as a companion to my PhD on graduate trajectories in a regional context. For details of that completed work, please see the PhD – Beyond Graduation tab.
